Note: This story takes place directly after
Ocarina of Time. The only difference is that Link wasn't turned
into a child again. To protect the future of Hyrule, he was kept
the way he was.
Link eyes opened as he awoke in his bed at Hyrule Castle. He
had had the strangest dream that night. His grandson, also named
Link, was battling a horrifying wizard. After his grandson won
the fight, the wizard turned into Ganon. That was when he woke
up. He got dressed in his Kokiri Tunic and went to breakfast.
Zelda, King Drayfus II, Saria, and Impa were there. Saria had
moved into the castle to represent the Kokiri at all the United
Meetings of Hyrule. Impa, being Zelda's caretaker, was allowed to
stay in the castle for the rest of her life and look after the
new children. "Hello, Link. Did you sleep well?" Zelda
asked. "Not really. I had this strange dream a descendant of
myself, also named Link, was battling a fierce wizard. When the
wizard was defeated, the wizard was revealed to be Ganon!"
Link said. Startled, King Drayfus dropped his fork while eating
his eggs. He was quite disturbed at the mention of Ganon.
"Link, I don't like the sound of this. I'd like you and five
of my best soldiers to go out and see if Ganon or some person is
stirring up trouble!" said King Drayfus. "If I may
object, your highness, I really don't see any need to. Link did
say it was a descendant of himself, so if it is true, none of us
would be alive to see it!" commented Saria. "Oh, I
guess your right. I'm sorry, but after that nightmare with
Ganondorf, I just get startled at the tiniest sign of
trouble." he said. "Your becoming paranoid, your
highness." Impa joked. Everyone at the table laughed at that
remark. After breakfast, King Drayfus told Link and Zelda to go
around Hyrule and get the governors of the Hyrule Alliance for
the monthly United Meeting of Hyrule. Impa went to Kakariko
Village to talk with the Sheikah council. Saria stayed at the
Castle, since the new governor of the Kokiri was Mido. Later that
morning, Link got on his horse, Epona, and Zelda got on hers,
Starlight. First, they went to Gerudo Valley. Link was friends
with many of the Gerudos, but Zelda hated going there. She
thought that they would bring back Ganon and overrun Hyrule. The
one and only Gerudo she trusted was Nabooru. She hated
Ganondorf's plan from the beginning. They came to the Hyrule
River and went across the bridge. "Hello, Link!" the
carpenters said. "Hello!" the pair replied. Then they
came upon Gerudo's Fortress. Nabooru was stationed at the top
part of the fortress. After the horror with Ganondorf, the
Haunted Wasteland, Desert Colossus, and the Spirit Temple were
off limits to everyone except Link, the royal family, and
herself. It was heard that Kohme and Kotake were still lurking
there. When they came to Nabooru's office, she quickly got up.
"Link! How nice to see you! Zelda, always a pleasure."
she said. She hugged Link and Zelda. "Well, I'm ready for
the meeting." she said. She got her horse, Gusty, and they
were off. As they were heading to Zora's Domain, Link asked
Nabooru what she was going to report that night. "The
Gerudos only problem is the constant thinking that we want to
revive Ganon. We do not want to bring back Ganon, and if he does
come back, we will most certainly not be responsible!" she
said. Link was wide-eyed, but he didn't say another word. After
they got Ruto from Zora's Domain, they went up Death Mountain
Trail for Darunia. There were some Tektites on the trail, but
Link put them to rest with the Hookshot. They went pass Dodongo's
Cavern, where Gorons were mining rocks. "Hello, Link!"
they called. Ruto was complaining about the weather, since she
was used to the humid environment of Zora's Domain and Lake
Hylia. They came to the entrance of Goron City and rode in. They
tied their horses up and continued down the different stairways
to Darunia's chamber. "Hello, brother!" he greeted. He
grabbed Link and put in a horribly painful Goron hug. After
letting go, Link fell on the ground. "Link, are you
okay?" asked Ruto, looking worried. "I'm fine. Darunia,
could you do me a favor and not give a Goron hug to me ever
again? You are the mighty Sage of Fire!" Link said, dazed.
"Sure, brother", Darunia said, hitting him on the back
as he was getting up. Link moaned. After getting away from Goron
City with Darunia, they met with Impa and rode to Kokiri Forest.
Link always enjoyed going to his home and talking with the Deku
Sprout. As soon as they came into the forest, people crowded
around them. "Hello, Hero of Time!" they all shouted.
"Hello, people of the Kokiri!" the group greeted back.
As the others went to get Mido, Link went to the Deku Sprout.
"Hello, Deku Sprout", he greeted. "Link, I'm
troubled! I sense evil coming upon Hyrule. I think that this evil
will take someone you cherish." The sprout said. "WHO?
WHO?" Link asked. "I can only see a girl
singing
with horses!" "MALON!" he said. He ran back to
Kokiri Forest. He saw the group with Mido. "Mido, you better
stay here." he said. "Link, what's wrong?" Impa
asked. "I just talked with the Deku Sprout, and he says that
Hyrule is in danger! He also said that my friend Malon from Lon
Lon Ranch is in danger!" Link said. They all got on their
horses and they went off. When they reached Hyrule Field,
lightning was crashing everywhere. A huge red light was coming
from Lon Lon Ranch. They went straight towards it. Once they got
there, they saw Malon being taken by a man in a black cape. A
hole in the ground appeared and they jumped in and were gone. The
hole also vanished. "MALON!" Link yelled, as the rain
was falling on his face.
