After battling Gohma, Link, Darunia, and Zelda continued up the staircase. They came across a few Wolfos and Stalfos on the way up. Then, they saw a huge doorway, but it was all black. They all went through unaware of the danger lurking inside. They stepped through, and for a few moments, they saw only black. They landed in a pit, with a lava lake in the middle. Then, the trio heard a familiar stomping from behind. They turned around to see another arch enemy- KING DODONGO!

The giant dinosaur roared loudly as Zelda stood in horror. Link quickly got out his Fairy Bow and shot an Arrow. King Dodongo breathed fire and the arrow burned away. Now, it was Darunia turn. "This is for all the suffering you caused my people!" he yelled. He threw a bomb straight into the dinosaur's mouth. It winced in pain. It quickly recovered, though. It shot fire and hit Link. "No!" Darunia screamed. Darunia hit him with the Megaton Hammer. The dinosaur howled in great pain and collapsed on the ground. Thinking it was dead, Darunia rushed to Link. "How is he?" "Not good. Wait! Here, Link, use this fairy!" she said. She opened a bottle as a fairy flew out and cured Link. Then, they heard King Dodongo rolling towards the corner. They quickly ducked out of the way. Link got up and took the Master Sword in his hand. He jumped and hit King Dodongo. It wailed once again, and started rolling around. It went in the lava pit and burned up. Then, the room vanished and found themselves in on a staircase, only the black doorway was behind them. They continued on their way.

They went up the staircase some more and once again saw a black doorway. This time they saw a symbol on the top of the door. It was a picture of a axe. Puzzled, they all stepped through. They landed in a room with a red carpet and firelight on the walls. Then, they heard a banging noise. Link at once knew what it was- THE ULTIMATE IRON KNUCKLE! He already knew what to do. "Nayru's Love!" he shouted. A blue protection zone surrounded the trio. "Brother, what is that thing?" "It's an Iron Knuckle. They usually hang around the Spirit Temple." Link replied. He started hitting it rapidly with the Biggoron's Sword. The monster was mostly unaffected. Then, the monster hit the ground hard with it's axe. The trio hit the ground, but they were unharmed. Zelda then used her Psychic powers to beam the Iron Knuckle. The Knuckle was hit hard. Then, Link continued his assault with the charged Master Sword. The Knuckle was very hurt. Darunia finished it off by smashing it's head in(literally) with the Megaton Hammer. Smoke came around it, and after it cleared, the thing had vanished. They finally continued. They continued up the stairs, Wolfos, Stalfos, Skulltulas, and Poes haunted the path. They could hear the evil laughter clearly now. They approached the top. When they looked in, they were shocked at the sight they saw.
