Prelude to Darkness
By Brent Cook

It was a dark, dreary day in the Land of Hyrule. The Market Was empty which is very uncommon. It is night and a grizzly silence has fallen on Hyrule castle. A silence like none before it.

On the horizon their stood a lone figure on a firm, black steed. They were coming. The guard on watch was asleep beside the gate. After many nights of waiting for nothing to come. But tonight something would come. Suddenly the silence was broken by a chorus of blows to the towns outer wall.

The guard instantly awoke. He knew he should sound the alarm but his curiosity was overwhelming. As the guard came closer to the wall the sounds got softer and softer. He got right up to the wall and laid his head up against it trying to hear the sounds.

Then, suddenly,as out of nowhere an army of mighty stalfos warriors burst through the outer wall. The people of Hyrule were asleep and completely oblivious to the attack. But the towns people were awakened by the screams and noise from the castles direction.

After many moments. The market with all its homes and shops were torched.People who had lived their all of their lives were now running for their lives. All through the chaos the figure in black slowly rode his horse all the way up to the castle to meet his stalfos warriors.
