The woman
approached the looming fortress just as a light rain
began to fall, making dots on her dusty cloak. A guard
approached, and said; "May I have
some identification?" The woman pulled back her
woolen hood, revealing a bushy head of blue hair. The man
nodded, and let the strange woman proceed through the
iron gate. She entered the dark halls, rain dripping from
the bedraggled hem of her cloak. She went into a room
with a large pedestal in the center, and many potions
lining the shelves. The woman hung her cloak on a wooded
peg, and looked to the stone about her neck. It was a
pearl, as large as a baby's head, and very heavy. She
fingered it lightly and removed it from the gilt chain it
hung from. The woman then placed the pearl on the
pedestal, where it floated in midair, and glowed,
illuminating the dark walls of the chamber. She waved her
smooth, small hands above it, chanting;
"Pearl of the Heavens, show thy power...." A
picture appeared in it, of a young man and woman, all
together. "The Royal Family...." The woman
seethed to herself. "Heh heh..I will get
them...Then, when they die, I will not only claim the
throne, but I shall steal the Triforces of Wisdom and
Courage after they leave their bodies. Then, I, the great
Drazira, shall become the ultimate ruler of all Hyrule,
and eventually Demiari itself!!!! Heh heh heh."
Drazira chuckled to herself. She then scanned the shelves
in her chamber, and pulled a bottle of a fizzing potion.
Grimacing at the sour taste, she took a gulp, and her
form began to change. Her dark skin lightened to a milky
paleness, like a Hylian's, and her pale blue hair faded
to a silvery blonde. Drazira peered into a looking glass,
and grinned at her reflection. Drazira slipped into a
very low cut blue satin dress, and placed the Pearl of
the Heavens back on it's chain, and pulled out a Deku
nut. Drazira threw it to the ground, and disappeared in a
cloud of smoke. She found herself standing before a huge
castle. Coughing and gasping from the smoke, Drazira
looked at her Pearl, which revealed a small drain hole on
the east side of the castle. She darted past the guards,
and squeezed inside the drainhole. ***
Link and Zelda sat in the King's study, cracking a bottle
of champagne open. Giggling wildly, Zelda poured them
each a fizzing glass, and Link clinked his glass against
hers, saying; "I love
you, Zelda." "I love you
too, Link..." Zelda kissed him. Link blushed
crimson, and kissed her back passionately. They sipped
the champagne, but, suddenly, a golden chandelier
loosened, and fell, cracking the King's desk in two,
narrowly missing Link and Zelda. Link jumped back, and
Zelda screamed, only to alert the guards. The champagne
spilled all over the place. Soldiers came running into
the study, seeing the busted desk and the young couple
startled. "Who did this, Your
Highness and Sir Link?" A husky guard asked in a
coarse accent. "The
chandelier fell." Zelda said. The guard asked;
"What did you do to make it fall?"
"Nothing. We were just having a drink when it
fell." Link said. The guard stroked his beard, just
as King Harkinian rushed in, fear written on his face. He
stood, aghast at the sight. "What
is going on!" He cried. Zelda told him the whole
story. Harkinian asked; "Why did it
fall? Who loosened the bolts?" He gazed at the stone
ceiling, thoughtfully. Everything looked normal, except
for a small burn mark near a bolt hole. The King shrugged
it off, and said; "Best
tighten security though...Bring some guards from the West
Wing over here, and you two," He looked to his
daughter and son-in-law, "stay here in the East Wing
until I say otherwise." "But,
Father..." Zelda protested.
"No buts young lady. I'm still the King around here.
Once you're Queen, you can push everyone around, but
until then, you're still under my orders." The King
left, along with the guards. Link and Zelda trudged back
to their chambers they shared since they had married
three weeks before, not knowing of the danger lurking in
the shadows of the halls. *** Drazira had to
stifle a dissapointed groan. She hadn't wanted to use
major magic, she had just melted the bolts of the
chandelier. But; "Curses!
I'll have to use major stuff from now on.." She
hissed. She slipped into the halls, only to be stopped by
a woman with silver hair, her face was no longer
youthful, but not yet old. "Miss, what
are you doing?" Impa asked Drazira. Drazira had to
think fast. "I -um..I
was looking for a job?" Drazira stammered.
"In the King's study???" Impa asked
skeptically. "The-the
King's study? I knew I was lost." Dazira lied.
"Very well. You're hired." Impa said. "We
could use another maid in the kitchen."
"Thank you, miss." Drazira said. This could be
the best way to kill the Royal Family, under disguise.
Ha! "Come along. You'll
need a uniform." Impa beckoned Drazira, who followed
her down to the dark servant's quarters, where she was
shown to a wardrobe in which hung plain cream linen
dresses. Impa got one out, and handed it to Drazira. She
then led Drazira down a dark corridor to a small room,
containing little more than a straw stuffed palled, an
oil lamp, and a chair. She then shut the rough hewn door,
and left Drazira alone. Drazira chuckled to herself,
slipped into the linen dress, and sat down to plan how
she would kill the Royal Family.

Drazira was awakened the next morning by a loud bell
clanging. Through a knothole, she saw other servants
dashing to work. Quickly, Drazira slipped her pearl from
around her neck, and tucked it in the folds of her blue
gown beneath her pallet. She then ran out to the kitchen,
snickering to herself the whole way. |
