"You'll come back... won't you...?"

"Of course."

"Good-bye then Link..."

"Good-bye." The green haired kokiri girl watched him slowly turn,
stepping out of the woods, into the light, and out ofher life. Letting
out a sigh, she turned and walked into the Kokiri Village.

"...And he plunged his sword right into the tree! Andnow the Deku's
dead!" a boy with blonde hair stood on a tree stump, shouting, a crowd
of elfin kokiris around him.
"What are you talking about, Mido?" the green tressed kokiri gave a
blank look.
"Saria!" shouted the boy, "where were you!?"

"Saying good-bye to Link. Why?"

"You actually said good-bye?!" a kokiri with red hair called out.
"Of course Ari, he's my friend." Saria stated firmly.

"You're friends with... with that... that MURDERER?!" a boy with hair
that covered his eyes yelled.
"Murderer? Link? No way- what are you talking about Groky?!" Saria grew
agitated.

"Mido saw it with his own eyes!" called a blonde kokiri with 2 low buns
in her hair.
"Delilaj, Mido was with me the whole time." Saria said, turning to Mido,
who now had a drop of sweat running down the side of his face.

Link had never seen anything like it before. As his fairy, Navi had
called it, it was a 'sunset.' It was about that time- sunset- that Link
had reached a structure. "Your map! Look at your map!" the little blue
fairy shouted at Link, buzzing her wings at a grueling pace.
Link pulled out the yellowing piece of paper, reading their location
aloud, "LonLon Ranch- only ranch in Hyrule."

"WA---------TCH OUT!!!" Link turned and saw a gir with orange hair, gray
eyes, and a yellow dress with a blue vest like top riding atop a gray
horse with a blue mane and tail- and she was heading straight for Link
and his fairy partner.

Link dove out of the way.... just in time...

//Huh?// Link was in a daze, his fairy no where in sight. He blinked
slowly, thinking //Where'd that girl go?// He glanced about, reliazing
the shadows that covered the land. Stars dotted the cloudy night sky and
through the eerie silence, a shout rang through Link's ears. //Saria?
Saria wher are you...?//

"Help!!"

//I'm... I'm coming!// Footsteps? //What is this? Saria? Where are
you?//

"Gyaah!!!"

//SARIA!!//

"Somebody help!"

"Huh?" Link woke up with a jump. //Was I dreaming?// He stood, looking
around.

"Don't make me angry! I'll hurt ya... ya spoony bard!"

//Huh?// Link saw in the distance, a figure in the dark, aiming her palm
at 2 strange skeleton creatures.

"I summon... the almighty goddess... Farore... help me destroy these
demons with the strength of your Courage Wind!" This feminine figure was
surrounded by a green glow. Energy formed in her palm. This glowing beam
made her features visable.

//It's the girl from before!!//

"Courage... Wind!" The girl shouted, and the beam fired at the
creatures. They exploded, leaving bones scattered within a 3 foot
radius.

"With all that screaming..." Link said, stepping forth, "...one would
think you were a damsel in distress."

She stepped on one of the littered femur bones, making it smash into
pieces, "I'm no damsel in distress."

"Well that's clearly obvious." Navi mumbled. She situated herself under
Link's hood.

"Hmph." the red-head crossed her arms and whistled, summoning the gray
horse.

"Hey... I didn't mean to offend you." Link advanced toward her.

"I wouldn't have guessed."

"Well... I'm sorry... My name's-"

"Doesn't matter." she interrupted.

//Smooth move, Linky boy.//

"Oh shut up," Link muttered to his 'brain.'

"Pardon?" The girl responded.

"I really am sorry..."

"Smooth move Linky boy," Navi muttered. Link sighed.

"Who was that?" she approached him.

"My fairy, Navi." Link replied, and Navi floated out observing the girl.

"I'm sorry that we got off on the wrong foot," the girl smiled at the 2,
"my name's Gesebel."
